Launching Crypto Challenges: 700+ Pairs, 50x Leverage, 24/7 Markets

Starting April 13, 2026, Dolvero traders can take on crypto prop challenges alongside our existing forex evaluations. The crypto challenges run on Bybit Demo — the same matching engine, the same real market data, and the same 700+ USDT-margined perpetual contracts that professional crypto traders use daily. Here is the full breakdown of what launched today.

Why Bybit Demo?

The choice of Bybit Demo as the infrastructure for crypto challenges was deliberate and based on three factors that matter for traders:

Market depth and instrument coverage. Bybit's perpetual contract market is one of the deepest liquidity pools in crypto derivatives. With 700+ USDT-margined pairs — from BTC and ETH to mid-cap altcoins and newer tokens — you have access to a breadth of instruments that no MT5 CFD environment can replicate. Niche pairs, new listings, and high-volatility tokens that prop traders actually care about are all available.

Real market data on demo. Bybit Demo uses the same price feeds as Bybit's live markets. The price you see on BTC/USDT perpetual on demo is the real BTC/USDT price. Fills are executed against a simulated order book that mirrors real market conditions. This is not a synthetic price feed or a chart replay — it is live market data with simulated execution.

Trader-owned accounts. Your Bybit demo account is your account. You create it, you own the API key, and you connect it to Dolvero via a read-only key. Dolvero reads your trading data to verify compliance with challenge rules but never controls your account. This architecture means there is no counterparty risk from Dolvero holding your credentials with write access.

The Challenge Products

Crypto 2-Step Challenge

The classic two-phase evaluation adapted for crypto markets:

  • Phase 1 target: 10% profit on starting balance
  • Phase 2 target: 5% profit on starting balance
  • Daily loss limit: 4% of starting balance
  • Static drawdown limit: 6% of starting balance
  • Maximum leverage: 50×
  • Risk per trade: Maximum 2% of account balance
  • Consistency rule: No single day may account for more than 15% of total challenge profit
  • Inactivity rule: Account must not go 7 consecutive calendar days without a trade during active challenge
  • Weekend trading: Fully permitted — crypto markets do not close
  • News trading: Fully permitted — no restrictions
  • Bot/EA trading: Fully permitted without prior approval

Account sizes and fees:

Account SizeChallenge Fee
$25,000$139
$50,000$239
$100,000$389
$200,000$739

Crypto 1-Step Challenge

A single-phase evaluation for traders who prefer a more direct path to funding:

  • Profit target: 10% of starting balance
  • Daily loss limit: 3% of starting balance
  • Trailing drawdown limit: 6% from peak equity
  • Maximum leverage: 50×
  • Risk per trade: Maximum 2% of account balance
  • Consistency rule: No single day may account for more than 15% of total profit
  • Inactivity rule: 7 consecutive days without a trade
  • Bot/EA/News trading: All permitted

Important distinction: The 1-Step uses trailing drawdown (from peak equity), while the 2-Step uses static drawdown (from initial balance). Trailing drawdown is more challenging to manage — if your account grows to +4% and then retraces, your trailing floor rises with the peak. This rewards consistent growth more than single large wins followed by retracements.

The 700+ Pairs: What You Can Actually Trade

The full instrument list on Bybit's USDT-margined perpetuals covers virtually every liquid and semi-liquid cryptocurrency in the market. Highlights include:

  • Large caps: BTC/USDT, ETH/USDT, SOL/USDT, BNB/USDT, XRP/USDT, ADA/USDT, DOGE/USDT, AVAX/USDT
  • Mid caps: ARB/USDT, OP/USDT, MATIC/USDT, LINK/USDT, DOT/USDT, ATOM/USDT, NEAR/USDT, APT/USDT
  • DeFi tokens: UNI/USDT, AAVE/USDT, CRV/USDT, MKR/USDT, COMP/USDT, SNX/USDT
  • Meme coins: SHIB/USDT, PEPE/USDT, FLOKI/USDT, BONK/USDT — all tradable on perpetuals
  • AI tokens: FET/USDT, AGIX/USDT, WLD/USDT, RNDR/USDT
  • Layer-2 tokens: STRK/USDT, ZKSYNC/USDT, MANTA/USDT, BLAST/USDT

This breadth is not available through any traditional prop firm using MT5 CFDs. If your strategy involves altcoin momentum, crypto sector rotation, or event-driven trading on new token launches, Bybit's perpetual market is the correct venue.

Leverage: Up to 50x — And Why You Probably Should Not Use All of It

The 50× leverage ceiling on Dolvero crypto challenges matches Bybit's standard leverage offerings for most pairs. In practice, this means:

  • On a $100,000 challenge account, you can control up to $5,000,000 in notional BTC position
  • A 0.12% adverse price move on a 50× position would wipe 6% of your account — the full drawdown limit — in a single candle

Maximum leverage is available. Whether using it is wise is a separate question. Most professional crypto traders running challenge accounts use 3–10× effective leverage on entries, reserving higher leverage for very short-duration scalping positions with tight stops. The challenge rules permit 50×, but the drawdown limits function as an implicit leverage governor in practice.

The 2% risk-per-trade rule is calculated on notional position size relative to account balance, not on margin posted. If you buy $10,000 of BTC notional on a $100,000 account at 10× leverage, your margin posted is $1,000 but your risk exposure is $10,000 — 10% of account. The 2% rule caps this at $2,000 notional risk (typically measured as the distance from entry to stop-loss multiplied by position size).

24/7 Markets: What This Changes for Challenge Management

Crypto markets never close. This creates both opportunities and risks that do not exist in forex or equity challenges:

No session gaps: There is no Sunday open gap, no Friday close risk from weekend holding. Positions can be held through weekends without any rule implications — the market is continuous.

Funding fee cycles: Every 8 hours (00:00, 08:00, 16:00 UTC), Bybit perpetuals apply a funding fee. If you are long on a pair with high positive funding, you pay the funding fee to shorts. This cost comes directly out of your P&L and counts toward your daily loss limit. On high-funding-rate pairs during bull markets, this can be 0.05–0.15% of notional per cycle — material over days of holding.

Liquidity variation by time of day: Despite running 24/7, crypto liquidity is not constant. Depth and spreads widen during the early Asian session (02:00–06:00 UTC) and tighten during the overlap of European and US sessions (13:00–20:00 UTC). Large positions entered during low-liquidity windows may face worse fills than the chart suggests.

Daily loss reset at midnight UTC: The daily loss limit resets at 00:00 UTC. If you lose 3.5% before midnight and enter a new position at 00:01, you have a full 4% loss budget for the new day — but the market and your existing positions did not reset with the clock. Manage daily loss as a continuous risk metric, not as a license to rebuild lost risk budget.

Bots and Automated Trading: No Approval Required

Algo trading is permitted on crypto challenges without pre-approval. This is explicitly different from how some prop firms handle automation — where EAs require submission and review before deployment.

At Dolvero, if your bot complies with the challenge rules (2% max risk per trade, daily loss limit, drawdown limit, consistency rule), it can run without any notification to us. Common setups that work within challenge rules:

  • Trend-following bots on perpetuals using moving average crossovers
  • Grid trading bots (with careful sizing to avoid drawdown limit violations)
  • Arbitrage bots between spot and perpetual (funding rate arbitrage)
  • News event bots that execute after announcement detection
  • Market-making bots on wider-spread pairs

What is not permitted: any strategy that manipulates your challenge metrics by artificially inflating balance (connecting to your Bybit demo account from outside Dolvero and using the demo-apply-money endpoint to add funds mid-challenge). This is monitored automatically and results in immediate account termination. Read the full guide on permitted bot trading here.

Payouts: USDT On-Chain Within 24 Hours

When you pass a crypto challenge and meet payout eligibility requirements, your profit split is paid in USDT on-chain — directly to your verified wallet address — within 24 hours of approval. No bank transfers, no currency conversion, no 5–10 business day processing windows.

Payout eligibility for crypto challenges:

  • Account in funded status (both phases passed)
  • Profit exceeds the minimum payout threshold ($100 USDT)
  • Consistency rule verified (no single day >15% of total profit)
  • KYC completed
  • Verified USDT wallet address on file

The 80% profit split applies by default. A 90% split is available with the Profit Split Boost add-on purchased at challenge start.
