Only one of the eleven prop firms in this comparison lets you trade news with no window at all: Funded Trading Plus. Everyone else blocks or penalises a period around high impact releases that runs from 2 minutes at FTMO, The5ers and Maven, through 5 minutes at FundedNext, FundingPips, E8, Alpha Capital and Goat Funded Trader, up to 30 minutes at Dolvero. Most firms apply the window only once you are funded and leave the evaluation free. Dolvero applies it on both stages and sells a News Trading add-on that removes it entirely. Below is the rule for each firm, what happens to a pending stop loss that fires inside the window, and the November 2026 calendar with every date and UTC time checked against the official source.
- Windows range from none at Funded Trading Plus to 30 minutes before and after at Dolvero. The 2 to 5 minute firms usually apply the rule to funded accounts only, so the headline number is not the whole story.
- A pending stop loss or take profit that fires inside the window counts as an execution at FTMO, FundedNext, Alpha Capital, The5ers and Dolvero. At E8, Maven and Goat the trade survives and the profit is stripped or capped instead.
- November 2026 has no FOMC decision and no ECB decision. The Fed meets 27 and 28 October and 8 and 9 December, the ECB on 28 and 29 October and 16 and 17 December. The Bank of England does decide, on Thursday 5 November at 12:00 UTC.
- Because the United States left daylight saving time on Sunday 1 November 2026, every 08:30 ET release in November sits at 13:30 UTC, an hour later in UTC than in October. The Dolvero MT5 server follows the Europe/Bucharest clock, so it is on UTC+2 for the whole month: the release lands at 15:30 server time and the window runs 15:00 to 16:00.
- News Trading accounts for 15.8% of Dolvero accounts that have had at least one breach, the second most common rule after the daily loss limit.
- Dolvero is the only firm in this table where a single add-on removes the news restriction on both the evaluation and the funded account, on every CFD product, for +15% on the evaluation fee. Crypto evaluations on Bybit have no news window at all.

News trading rules at 11 prop firms
Three questions decide whether a trade around a release is safe: how long the window is, whether it applies during the evaluation or only on the funded account, and what the firm does when you break it. The last one splits the field cleanly. Some firms treat a window trade as a breach that ends the account. Others treat it as a soft breach and simply remove the profit, which is a very different outcome for a trader who was right.
| Firm | Window | Evaluation | Funded | What happens if you trade it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dolvero | 30 min before and after | restricted | restricted | No opening and no closing inside the window on any high impact event. The News Trading add-on removes the window on both stages. Crypto evaluations on Bybit are unrestricted. |
| FTMO | 2 min before and after | free | restricted | Listed events only. Breach on the Standard funded account. The Swing account has no restriction. |
| FundedNext | 5 min before and after | free | profit reduced | Only 40% of the profit made in the window counts. Losses count in full. |
| FundingPips | 5 min before and after | free | restricted | Affected currency only, treated as a soft breach. Trades opened at least 5 hours earlier are exempt. |
| The5ers | 2 min before and after | no execution in the window | Holding through the release is allowed. Profit made inside the window is deducted. Stage split not stated. | |
| E8 Markets | 5 min before and after | free | profit removed | Profit made in the window is removed, the account is not breached. |
| Alpha Capital | 5 min before and after | free | restricted | Listed USD, AUD, CAD, EUR and GBP events, soft breach. The Swing plan is exempt. |
| FXIFY | not stated | not stated for Two Phase | The program page prohibits high leverage news trading without defining a window. A 5 minute blackout is stated for Crypto and Instant Lite. | |
| Maven | 2 min before and after | restricted | restricted | Red folder events. Profit made in the window does not count. |
| Goat Funded Trader | 5 min before and after | capped | capped | Allowed, but profit from trades opened or closed in the window is capped at 1% of the initial balance. |
| Funded Trading Plus | none | allowed | allowed | The risk review policy states that news trading is allowed. |
Two patterns are worth naming. First, a short window is not automatically the friendlier rule. FTMO's 2 minutes end the funded account outright, while Goat's 5 minutes cost you profit above 1% of the initial balance and nothing else. Second, a firm that leaves the evaluation free is not doing you a favour if the funded account is where your money is. You will pass with a habit that fails you later. Dolvero applies the same window at both stages precisely so that nothing changes on the day the account goes live, and the add-on removes it at both stages too.
What happens to a pending stop loss inside the window
This is the detail that catches experienced traders. You open a position an hour before the release, set a stop, and go for lunch. The release moves price, your stop fills at 13:30:04, and at several firms that fill is an execution inside the window even though you did nothing at the time.
| Firm | Stop loss or take profit firing in the window | Practical consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Dolvero | counts as a closing | The rule covers opening and closing. A stop that fills inside the window is a breach unless the News Trading add-on is on the account. |
| FTMO | counts as an execution | Explicitly a breach on the Standard funded account. |
| FundedNext | included | Stop loss and take profit are inside the rule, so the 40% profit reduction applies. |
| FundingPips | exempt after 5 hours | A position opened at least 5 hours before the release is outside the rule, which covers most swing entries. |
| The5ers | execution is what is restricted | Holding through the release is fine, the profit generated inside the window is deducted. |
| E8 Markets | no breach | Profit earned in the window is removed, the account continues. |
| Alpha Capital | included, soft breach | Stop loss and take profit are named in the rule. Profits are removed. |
| FXIFY | not stated | No published treatment for the Two Phase product. |
| Maven | profit does not count | The trade stands, the profit made in the window does not. |
| Goat Funded Trader | closed in the window is capped | A stop or target that fills in the window puts the trade under the 1% profit cap. |
| Funded Trading Plus | no effect | There is no window to fall inside. |
If you intend to hold through a high impact release at a firm that counts stop fills, you have three honest options: close before the window opens, widen the stop so only a genuine invalidation reaches it, or cut size until the unstopped risk is one you would accept. A tight stop under a position going into a release is the version that ends accounts, because the fill is both a loss and a rule event.

Mapping the plus or minus 30 minute window to server time
The Dolvero rule is 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after every high impact event in the Dolvero economic calendar. That is a 61 minute block around the release. The mistake that produces almost every news breach we review is arithmetic, not strategy: the trader reads the release time on a calendar set to a local time zone, and the trade timestamp is recorded in another.
Dolvero MetaTrader 5 accounts run on the Europe/Bucharest clock. That is UTC+3 during European summer time and UTC+2 for the rest of the year, switching on the last Sunday of March and the last Sunday of October, so the whole of November 2026 sits on UTC+2. Server midnight is 21:00 UTC in summer and 22:00 UTC in winter, which is 23:00 in Prague and 17:00 in New York all year round. The Dolvero WebTrader stores every timestamp in UTC. So there are up to three clocks in play: the calendar you read, the platform you trade, and the record that decides the case. Work in UTC and convert once.
- Take the release time in UTC, not in your local time. US releases at 08:30 Eastern are 12:30 UTC while the United States is on daylight saving time and 13:30 UTC once it is not. The switch happened on Sunday 1 November 2026, so every US release in this article's calendar is at 13:30 UTC.
- Add the server offset, which is two hours in November. 13:30 UTC becomes 15:30 server time. In summer the offset is three hours, so check which side of the last Sunday of October you are on. If you trade the WebTrader, skip this step, because the WebTrader already works in UTC.
- Subtract and add 30 minutes. The blocked block for an 08:30 ET release is 13:00 to 14:00 UTC, which is 15:00 to 16:00 on the MT5 server clock in November.
- Check the seconds, not just the minute. A close at 15:00:00 server time is inside the window. Set your own personal cut-off a few minutes earlier and treat that as the deadline.
- Write the offsets on the same sheet as your plan. One line is enough: release 13:30 UTC, server 15:30, window 15:00 to 16:00 server, my cut-off 14:55.
Europe put its clocks back on Sunday 25 October 2026, the United States on Sunday 1 November 2026. Because the MT5 server follows Europe and the American releases follow Washington, the two moves cancel each other out over the month: an 08:30 Eastern release is 15:30 server time in early October and 15:30 server time again all through November. In the seven days between the two switches it is 14:30 server time instead, and that is the week routines break. What does change for good on 1 November is the UTC stamp, which moves from 12:30 to 13:30, and the UTC stamp is what the WebTrader records and what a breach review reads.
The November 2026 event calendar
Every date and time below comes from the official publisher, checked on 10 September 2026. Local time is Eastern for United States releases and London time for the Bank of England, and both are on standard time for the whole of November, so the conversions hold all month. Server time is the Dolvero MetaTrader 5 clock, on UTC+2 through November. The final column is the block in which no position may be opened or closed without the News Trading add-on.

Note what is missing. There is no Federal Reserve decision in November 2026: the Federal Open Market Committee meets on 27 and 28 October and again on 8 and 9 December. The European Central Bank has none either, meeting on 28 and 29 October and then on 16 and 17 December. That leaves the Bank of England on Thursday 5 November as the only major rate decision of the month, delivered with a full Monetary Policy Report, which is usually the more volatile combination. The month then ends thin, with Thanksgiving on Thursday 26 November.
The list above is a planning aid built from primary sources. The rule itself is tied to the High Impact flag in the Dolvero economic calendar, which also carries speeches, revisions and non-US events that are not in this table, and speeches in particular move at short notice. Before a session, open the calendar and read the day, not a table you saved a month ago.

How news breaches actually happen
News Trading is the second most common rule among Dolvero accounts that have had at least one breach, at 15.8%, behind the daily loss limit at 75.4%. The timing data says the same thing from another angle: 13:00 UTC is the single busiest breach hour, about 21% of all breach events, and 12:00 to 14:00 UTC together account for roughly 36%. That is the United States session open sitting on top of the 12:30 and 13:30 UTC data releases.
A real case from 4 September 2026 shows the shape of it. A trader closed an XAUUSD position at exactly 12:30 UTC, the moment of the Canadian Employment Change release. It was not a news bet. The trader had compared a calendar showing local time against a trade record kept in UTC, and the two numbers were an hour apart. The account failed on a rule the trader believed he was respecting. In November the same arithmetic error moves an hour later in UTC, because the American releases now sit at 13:30.
Gold is where this concentrates. XAUUSD appears more often than any other instrument in Dolvero breach records, on news breaches and daily loss breaches alike, because it reacts hardest to United States data and because it is the instrument traders size most aggressively.
The three ways to trade November news legally
- Trade around the window. Plan entries so that neither the entry nor the exit can land inside the block. On an 08:30 ET release that means flat by 14:55 server time and no new position until after 16:00. This costs you nothing and is what most passing traders do.
- Buy the News Trading add-on. It adds 15% to the evaluation fee at checkout and removes the window on the evaluation and on the funded account, across every Dolvero CFD product. It is the most chosen Dolvero add-on by share of orders that include one.
- Trade crypto instead. Dolvero crypto evaluations run on Bybit demo across 700 or more pairs with no news restriction at any time, because the market trades 24 hours a day and has no equivalent scheduled release calendar.
What does not work is the fourth option people try: holding through the release and hoping the pending stop does not fill. On a Dolvero account a closing inside the window is a rule event whether you clicked it or the platform did.
Where Dolvero stands out
The 30 minute window is the widest in this comparison and we say so plainly. What sits behind it is different from the rest of the field: one add-on that removes the restriction at both stages, the same rule on the evaluation and on the funded account so nothing changes on the day you go live, a calendar published on the site rather than a third-party feed, and a published review for every disputed case.

Frequently asked questions
Which prop firms allow news trading?
Funded Trading Plus allows it with no window. Goat Funded Trader allows it with profit from window trades capped at 1% of the initial balance. FTMO, FundedNext, FundingPips, E8 Markets and Alpha Capital allow it freely during the evaluation and restrict a 2 to 5 minute window on the funded account. Maven restricts 2 minutes at both stages. Dolvero restricts 30 minutes at both stages and removes the restriction entirely with the News Trading add-on.
Can I trade NFP on a prop firm challenge in November 2026?
The October payrolls report is released on Friday 6 November 2026 at 08:30 Eastern, which is 13:30 UTC and 15:30 on the MT5 server clock. On a Dolvero account without the News Trading add-on you may not open or close a position between 15:00 and 16:00 server time. At FTMO, FundedNext, FundingPips, E8 and Alpha Capital you may trade it during the evaluation, and the restriction applies once you are funded.
Does a stop loss that fires during a news release count as a breach?
At Dolvero, FTMO and Alpha Capital an execution inside the window counts regardless of who triggered it, so a pending stop or take profit is included. FundedNext also includes them and applies its profit reduction. At E8, Maven and Goat Funded Trader the trade is not a breach and the profit is removed or capped instead. FundingPips exempts positions opened at least 5 hours before the release.
Is there an FOMC meeting in November 2026?
No. The Federal Open Market Committee meets on 27 and 28 October 2026 and on 8 and 9 December 2026. The minutes of the October meeting are normally published three weeks after the decision, which points to 18 November, but that date is not yet on the Federal Reserve calendar. The European Central Bank also has no November meeting. The Bank of England announces its decision on Thursday 5 November at 12:00 UTC.
How do I convert the news window to my platform clock?
Take the release time in UTC and add the server offset. The Dolvero MetaTrader 5 server follows Europe/Bucharest, so the offset is two hours in winter and three in summer. An 08:30 Eastern release in November 2026 is 13:30 UTC and 15:30 server time, and the blocked block is 15:00 to 16:00 server time. The Dolvero WebTrader records everything in UTC, so no conversion is needed there.
Does the news rule apply to crypto evaluations?
No. Dolvero crypto evaluations on Bybit have no news window at any time, on the evaluation or once funded. The News Trading add-on exists for the CFD products, where the restriction applies.
