A consistency rule, sometimes called a best day rule, says that no single trading day may account for more than a set share of your profit. At Dolvero the threshold is 15%. On CFD Instant Funding, at the moment you request a payout, your best day may not exceed 15% of the sum of all your profitable days. Losing days are not subtracted from that sum. This guide explains how the ratio is computed, what happens when one strong day pushes it over the line, how far the same rule ranges at other firms, and it gives you a calculator that tells you exactly how much more profit brings your best day back under 15% and whether the second payout condition, ten profitable days of at least 0.5%, is already met.
- Dolvero's consistency rule is a payout condition on CFD Instant Funding. The CFD 2-Step and 1-Step evaluations and their funded accounts have no consistency rule. Crypto 2-Step and 1-Step carry the same 15% as a soft gate that blocks progression and never terminates the account.
- The ratio is best day divided by the sum of all profitable days. Losing days do not reduce the denominator, which makes the Dolvero definition more forgiving than a net-profit version of the same rule.
- The rule is checked at payout time. It does not breach the account; it delays the payout until more profitable days have been added.
- To bring a best day of B under 15% you need total profitable-day profit of at least B divided by 0.15. The calculator below does the arithmetic and shows the shortfall in dollars.
- Other firms apply thresholds of 20% to 50%, and several apply them on the evaluation or on every funded payout. Dolvero applies none on CFD 2-Step and 1-Step, evaluation or funded.
- The calculator below lets you check the payout gate yourself before you request, and the Dolvero dashboard tracks your account's risk metrics in real time.

What a consistency rule is and how Dolvero defines it
Every consistency rule answers one question: did the account earn its profit over a series of sessions, or did one oversized bet do the work? Firms measure this as a ratio. The numerator is the profit of your single best day. The denominator is either total net profit or, as at Dolvero, the sum of all profitable days. The rule passes if the ratio is at or under the threshold. Three details decide how the same headline percentage behaves in practice.
| Element | Dolvero Instant Funding | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Numerator | Closed profit of your single best day | Only closed results count. A day is a server day on MT5 (Europe/Bucharest, UTC+3 in summer and UTC+2 in winter) or a UTC day on WebTrader. |
| Denominator | Sum of the closed profit of all profitable days | Losing days are not subtracted. A denominator based on net profit would be smaller and would push the ratio up after every losing day. |
| Threshold | 15% | The best day may be at most 15% of the sum of profitable days. |
| When it is checked | At the moment a payout is requested | The ratio can be above 15% during the cycle without consequence. It has to be at or under 15% when you ask for money. |
| What happens if it fails | The payout waits | The account is not breached and nothing is deducted. More profitable days lower the ratio and open the gate. |
| Second condition | 10 profitable days of at least 0.5% | A day counts when its closed profit is at least 0.5% of the starting balance. The two conditions are checked together. |
Written as a formula, the payout condition on Instant Funding is: best day divided by the sum of profitable days is at most 0.15, and the number of days with closed profit of at least 0.5% of the starting balance is at least 10. Turn the first condition around and you get the number the calculator is built on: the sum of profitable days must reach at least the best day divided by 0.15, which is the best day multiplied by 6.67.
A net-profit denominator punishes you twice for a bad day: you lose money and your best day becomes a larger share of what is left. Dolvero measures consistency against what you actually earned on the days you earned it. A trader with ten profitable days summing to $3,000 and three losing days summing to $800 is tested against $3,000, not against $2,200. The ratio can only go down as profitable days are added, never up because of a losing one.
Where the 15% applies and where it does not
On CFD the rule is tied to one product for a specific reason. On the CFD 2-Step and 1-Step the evaluation already requires five qualifying days per phase with closed profit of at least 0.5%, so consistency is proven before the funded account exists. Instant Funding skips the evaluation, and the payout gate does that work instead.
| Model | Consistency rule | Profitable-day condition | Daily loss | Max drawdown | Split |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2-Step CFD | none | 5 days of 0.5% per phase, none at payout | 5% | 10% static | 80%, 90% with add-on |
| 1-Step CFD | none | 5 days of 0.5%, none at payout | 3% | 6% trailing | 80%, 90% with add-on |
| Instant Funding | 15% best day at payout | 10 days of 0.5% before a payout | 2% | 5% trailing from highest closed balance | 70%, 80%, 90% from the third payout |
| Crypto 2-Step (Bybit) | 15% soft gate | 5 days of 0.5% per phase | 4% | 6% static | 80% |
| Crypto 1-Step (Bybit) | 15% soft gate | 5 days of 0.5% | 3% | 6% trailing | 80% |
Instant Funding also has no 2% per-trade-idea cap and no profit target, and its inactivity rule is 7 days measured as 7 times 24 hours from the last activity. The consistency rule is the only condition that can hold a payout on an otherwise healthy Instant account, which is why it deserves a calculator of its own.

Consistency rule calculator
Enter the sum of your profitable days, your single best day and the number of days that closed with at least 0.5% profit. The calculator shows the current best-day ratio against the 15% limit, how much more closed profit brings the best day under the line, the minimum number of extra days that takes, and whether the ten-day gate is met. Figures update as you type.

Worked examples on a $25,000 Instant Funding account
On a $25,000 account a qualifying day needs closed profit of at least $125 (0.5%). The daily loss limit is $500 and the trailing drawdown floor sits 5% below the highest closed balance. All three examples assume the ten-day gate is met and look only at the ratio.
Example 1: one strong day blocks the payout
| Item | Value | Calculation |
|---|---|---|
| Sum of profitable days | $3,000 | 12 profitable days |
| Best day | $750 | a single gold trend day |
| Best-day ratio | 25.0% | 750 / 3,000 |
| Required sum of profitable days | $5,000 | 750 / 0.15 |
| Shortfall | $2,000 | 5,000 minus 3,000 |
| Payout | waiting | at least 3 more days of up to $750, or more smaller days |
The trader is $3,000 in closed profit and cannot yet withdraw any of it. Nothing has been lost: the moment profitable days add $2,000 without any of them exceeding $750, the ratio drops to 15% and the payout button is active. At $250 a day that would be eight more sessions.
Example 2: the same profit, evenly earned
| Item | Value | Calculation |
|---|---|---|
| Sum of profitable days | $3,000 | 12 profitable days |
| Best day | $400 | 1.6 times the $250 average |
| Best-day ratio | 13.3% | 400 / 3,000 |
| Largest new day that keeps 15% | $529 | 0.15 × 3,000 / 0.85 |
| Payout | open | $3,000 × 70% first-payout split = $2,100 available |
Same total, different shape. The best day is 1.6 times the average and the ratio is comfortably inside the limit. With ten qualifying days, the arithmetic says a best day may be up to about 1.6 times the average of the other nine before the rule is touched, which is a lot of room for a discretionary trader with a normal distribution of results.
Example 3: losing days do not change the answer
| Item | Dolvero definition | A net-profit definition, for comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Profitable days | $3,000 | $3,000 |
| Losing days | −$900, ignored | −$900, subtracted |
| Denominator | $3,000 | $2,100 |
| Best day $450 | 15.0% | 21.4% |
| Result at 15% | passes | fails |
This is the difference the definition makes. Under a net-profit version of the rule, three losing days would turn a compliant account into a blocked one without any change to the best day. At Dolvero the losing days reduce what you can withdraw, because only closed net profit is paid out, but they do not touch the consistency ratio.
How the rule compares across firms
The values below are from the official rule pages and help centers checked on 10 September 2026, the same sources used in Prop Firm Rules Compared 2026. The last column is simple arithmetic: with a threshold of X%, the smallest number of equal profitable days that can satisfy the rule is 1 divided by X, rounded up. It shows how much each rule actually shapes a trader's behaviour.
| Firm | On the evaluation | On funded or at payout | Threshold | Notes | Equal days implied |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dolvero | none on CFD | CFD Instant Funding; Crypto evaluations as a soft gate | 15% | Checked at payout, losing days not subtracted, plus 10 profitable days of 0.5%. None on CFD 2-Step or 1-Step. Crypto 2-Step and 1-Step: 15% soft gate. | 7 |
| FTMO | none on 2-step | 1-step only | 50% | Best Day rule applies to the 1-step product only. | 2 |
| FundedNext | none | on-demand option | 40% | Best day rule only when the on-demand reward option is chosen. | 3 |
| FundingPips | none | every reward | 35% | On the Master account, plus 7 profitable days of at least 0.5% before each reward; resets after every reward. | 3 |
| The5ers | none | funded | 50% | Consistency requirement after passing the High Stakes evaluation. | 2 |
| E8 Markets | Trader stage | 40% | 40% best day rule. | 3 | |
| Alpha Capital | none | on-demand payouts | 40% | Best day 40% for on-demand payouts, none for bi-weekly payouts. | 3 |
| Maven Trading | not stated | instant accounts | 20% | 20% consistency score applies to instant accounts. | 5 |
| Goat Funded Trader | none stated for 2 Step GOAT | not stated | |||
| Funded Trading Plus | 35% per phase | 50% per payout period | 35% / 50% | Applies on each evaluation phase and on the funded account. | 3 / 2 |
Two patterns stand out. First, a 50% threshold is barely a rule: two equal days satisfy it, so it only catches an account whose profit is essentially one trade. A 35% or 40% rule bites at three days. Dolvero's 15% is the tightest ratio in the table, and it is placed deliberately: on CFD it applies only to accounts that never passed an evaluation, and it sits next to a ten-day condition that already exceeds the seven days the ratio implies. A trader who reaches ten qualifying days with a normal spread of results meets the ratio without thinking about it. Second, several firms apply their rule where Dolvero applies none: on every funded reward (FundingPips, The5ers, Funded Trading Plus) or on each evaluation phase (Funded Trading Plus). On a Dolvero CFD 2-Step or 1-Step, the shape of your profit is never a payout condition.

Trading an Instant account so the rule never bites
The rule is easy to satisfy by design and easy to break by accident. The accident is always the same: one day sized differently from all the others. Four habits keep the ratio where it belongs.
- Fix a daily profit range before the first trade. Decide what a normal day earns on your account, for example $150 to $350 on $25,000, and stop adding size when a day reaches the top of the range. The 2% daily loss limit already sets the floor of the range for you; set the ceiling yourself.
- Keep the best day under 1.5 times your average. With ten or more qualifying days, a best day at 1.5 times the average of the others stays under 15% with room to spare. Run the calculator after any unusually good session.
- After a big day, add days, not size. If the ratio is above 15%, the fastest way back is several ordinary days, each at or below the best day. Chasing one more large day raises the numerator as fast as the denominator and can leave the ratio where it was.
- Count qualifying days separately. A profitable day below 0.5% raises the denominator but does not count toward the ten. On $25,000 that means at least $125 closed on each of ten days. The calculator shows both counters next to each other.
Instant Funding hands out capital without an evaluation. The 15% ratio and the ten-day condition are the only evidence that the profit being paid out came from a repeatable process rather than one leveraged bet, which is what keeps the split at 70%, 80% and 90% and the fee refundable on the second payout. Traders who prefer to prove consistency once, in an evaluation, and then withdraw without any shape condition choose the CFD 2-Step or 1-Step, where the rule does not exist.

Frequently asked questions
What is the consistency rule at Dolvero?
On CFD Instant Funding it is a payout condition. At the moment you request a payout, your best single day may not exceed 15% of the sum of all your profitable days, and you need at least ten days with closed profit of at least 0.5% of the starting balance. Losing days are not subtracted from the sum. The CFD 2-Step and 1-Step have no consistency rule at any stage; Crypto 2-Step and 1-Step have a 15% soft gate that blocks progression and does not terminate the account.
Does breaking the 15% rule fail my account?
No. It is a payout condition, not a drawdown limit. If the ratio is above 15% when you request a payout, the request waits until more profitable days bring the ratio down. Nothing is deducted and the account keeps trading.
How much more profit do I need to get under 15%?
Divide your best day by 0.15 and subtract the sum of your profitable days so far. A best day of $750 needs profitable days summing to $5,000; if you have $3,000, you need $2,000 more, earned on days no larger than $750. The calculator above does this for any numbers.
Do losing days count in the consistency calculation?
Not at Dolvero. The denominator is the sum of profitable days only, so a losing day cannot push the ratio up. Some firms measure against net profit, where losing days shrink the denominator and can turn a compliant account into a blocked one.
Which prop firms have no consistency rule?
On standard 2-step evaluations, FTMO, FundedNext, FundingPips, The5ers, Alpha Capital, Goat Funded Trader and Dolvero's CFD evaluations apply none during the evaluation. On funded accounts, FundingPips (35%), The5ers (50%) and Funded Trading Plus (50%) apply one on every payout; Dolvero applies none on CFD 2-Step and 1-Step and 15% on CFD Instant Funding (Crypto evaluations: a 15% soft gate).
Does a profitable day below 0.5% count?
It counts toward the sum of profitable days, which helps the ratio, but it does not count toward the ten qualifying days. On a $25,000 account a qualifying day needs at least $125 of closed profit.
